Android files,
the Mac way.

Features

Everything you know from Finder.
Now for your phone.

No new app to learn. Your phone's files appear in a familiar window, and moving them works the way it does everywhere else on your Mac.

Drag and drop

Drag photos straight to your desktop, drop files onto the phone, or copy in one and paste in the other.

Thumbnails and Quick Look

See your photos and videos as pictures, in list and icon view. Press Space to Quick Look any file on the phone.

Storage and SD card

Switch between the phone's internal storage and its SD card from the sidebar, with DCIM, Pictures and Download a click away.

Space at a glance

See how much room is left on the phone as you browse, and find its details under Device Info.

Light, dark and Liquid Glass

Follows your Mac's appearance, and wears Liquid Glass on macOS 26.

Made for the keyboard

Download, upload, rename, Quick Look and go back and forth with the shortcuts you would expect.

  • Drop files on the Dock icon to copy them to the phone.
  • Two panes, if you like: show your Mac's files beside the phone's.
  • A notification when a long transfer has finished.
  • Updates offered in the app when a new version is out.
Transfers

Big copies,
clearly shown.

Send a whole folder of videos and Macinroid counts the files first, so you see how far along the copy really is.

  • ProgressOf the whole copy, not one file at a time
  • SpeedAnd the time left, as it goes
  • CancelAny time, with ⌘.

Device Info

Know your phone.

The phone's name, maker, software version and serial number, and how full its internal storage and SD card are, in one place. Press ⌘I.

The Device Info sheet: a Google Pixel 9 Pro, software version 16, with 114.7 GB free of 256 GB internal storage and 51.2 GB free of a 64 GB SD card
Under the hood

Built from scratch, in Swift.

Android phones share their files over MTP, the Media Transfer Protocol. Macinroid speaks it itself, through macOS's own USB framework, so there is nothing else to install. It is a native rewrite of OpenMTP for the Mac.
